Binibining Pilipinas held a send-off for Katrina Johnson on Wednesday, October 28, as she represents the country in Miss International.

The Filipina beauty queen revealed that exactly 10 years ago, she manifested her dream of competing in the Japan-based pageant.

On Instagram, Johnson shared a screenshot of her Notes app dated October 28, 2016, and “Miss International” is at the top of her “ultimate bucket list.”

Looking back, she could not believe that things have finally aligned for her.

“Ten years ago, on this very day, almost to the very hour, I wrote down a list of things I hoped to achieve in life,” she said. “A decade of unexpected turns, lessons, losses, and second chances later, here we are… And to think, there’s still so much of this story left to write.”

“Ito na ang ating panahon, Pilipinas,” she declared.

Johnson will aim for the Philippines’ seventh Miss International crown and follow in the footsteps of Kylie Verzosa (2016), Bea Rose Santiago (2013), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970), and Gemma Cruz (1964).

Last year’s representative, Myrna Esguerra, finished as fourth runner-up.

There will be no swimsuit competition in this year’s Miss Interantional, which will be held on November 25 in Tokyo, Japan.
