Metro Exclusive: ROSÉ Is Johnnie Walker’s New Collaborator, and Here’s What Happened in Seoul

Johnnie Walker has announced ROSÉ as its newest collaborator, bringing the BLACKPINK star and the iconic Scotch whisky brand together in a partnership that will begin in Seoul before expanding across Asia and eventually to a global audience. Metro was right in Seoul, South Korea for this launch and met ROSÉ, herself.

The announcement was marked by a special Johnnie Walker Black Label celebration at Bar 81, located at SIGNIEL SEOUL, on October 26. During the event, ROSÉ introduced her signature ‘Twist of Something Highball,’ a new serve created as part of the collaboration.

Rooted in the South Korean city that helped shape her story as an artist, the partnership draws on ROSÉ’s creative perspective and distinctive artistic identity. The collaboration will explore new expressions of Johnnie Walker through design, creativity, and culture, with a series of experiences planned for audiences around the world.

“I’m very excited to expand my creative journey with Johnnie Walker and explore new ways to bring different worlds together. As a brand that has remained iconic across generations, I’m honoured to bring something of my own to its evolving story.” says ROSÉ.

For Johnnie Walker, the partnership continues its commitment to working with artists who challenge convention and push culture forward. Neil Shah, the brand’s Global Brand Director, says ROSÉ’s individuality and spirit of progress align closely with what the brand represents.

Seoul after dark, with a disco ball setting the mood for the evening’s intimate celebration.

At the launch in Seoul, Metro was part of this very announcement event. ROSÉ arrived in a structured bejeweled dress and ready to mix drinks for the selected guests.

ROSÉ greeted the guests and went to the Johnnie Walker bar area where she crafted her Rosé’s Ruby “Sweet Girl Intuition” drink with main bartender of the night, 2018 World Class Korea Champion Kim Jin-hwan.

The space was very much a fun intimate party, with a big disco ball in the middle illuminating the space, the drinks, and the guests, a vibe ROSÉ concocted herself for this very special night.

Other special ROSÉ cocktails made specifically for the event included fun names like “Toxic Sour” and “Straight to the Point.”

The collaboration also builds on Johnnie Walker’s multi-year partnership with Grammy Award-winning singer Sabrina Carpenter, which introduced her signature Go Go Highball and a limited-edition Black Label bottle inspired by her style.
