Kai and Sehun of popular K-pop boy band EXO have a year-end treat in store for fans as they are reportedly set to debut as a new sub-unit in December.

The duo will make their debut with a new mini-album, or extended play (EP), K-pop news website Soompi reported, citing a statement from their agency, SM Entertainment.

This will mark Kai’s first EXO sub-unit project and Sehun’s second, following his collaboration with fellow member Chanyeol as the duo EXO-SC.

In January, the two took part in EXO’s comeback with its eighth album, “REVERXE,” led by the single “Crown.”

They also joined the group’s tour, “EXO PLANET #6 – EXhOrizon,” which included a two-night stop in Manila in July.

Kai, whose real name is Kim Jong-in, and Sehun, whose full name is Oh Se-hun, both debuted in 2012 as members of EXO, known for hits such as “Growl,” “Ko Ko Bop” and “Love Shot.”

Sehun later debuted as a member of EXO-SC in 2019 and has also appeared in several television dramas, web series and variety shows.

Meanwhile, Kai launched his solo music career in 2020 and has since released four EPs. He also hosts the online variety series “Changing Majors (Jeongwaja),” in which he visits universities and colleges to experience different academic programs.
