MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) cautioned the public against buying illegally pre-registered subscriber identity module (SIM) cards, after the unit seized nearly 2,300 SIM cards in one week. “We urge everyone to avoid purchasing pre-registered SIM cards and to ensure proper registration of their SIMs,” PNP ACG Director Brig. MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be deploying 4,904 personnel for the metro’s celebration of the 2025 Chinese New Year. In a statement on Tuesday evening, the NCRPO said the deployment includes 733 officers to secure celebration venues, 531 to manage traffic flow and 488 to monitor at checkpoints. The Metro Manila police added that medical teams and reserve forces will be on standby for emergency response.
