Trillanes on Sara Duterte’s threat: Hindi ko na lang papatulan

Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday shrugged off the threat made by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and maintained his earlier claim that President Rodrigo Duterte allegedly tapped his daughter to run for president in 2022.

“Hindi ko na lang siguro papatulan ‘yan, I don’t have time for that,” Trillanes told reporters at the Senate.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sara Duterte told Trillanes to leave her alone in peace in Davao City, warning that the senator and his friends can spend more than a billion pesos just to make her “insignificant” in the 2022 presidential elections.

“President Duterte imagines you will be shot, on the other hand, I will make sure you are alive and in pain,” Sara also said in a Facebook post.

Trillanes claimed that Duterte will push Sara to seek higher office in 2019 and eventually in 2022 polls if his alleged plans to stay in power through declaring revolutionary government and nationwide martial law would fail.

“I believe that decision was made for her by Duterte as a final option,” he said.   /vvp
