Arroyo’s daughter named as National Museum chief trustee

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has named Evangelina Lourdes “Luli” Arroyo-Bernas, only daughter of former President and now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, as chairperson of the National Museum board of trustees.

The President signed Bernas’ appointment paper last Dec. 6, a copy of which was released to the media only on Monday.

The President also appointed retired Bases Conversion and Development Authority Director Yusop Jimlani, a former Army colonel, as presidential adviser on local extremist groups concerns.

He will have the rank of undersecretary.

Prior to his appointment, Jimlani once served as chief of the City Demolition Unit during during the President’s term as mayor of Davao City.

Also appointed were Ramon Ike Señeres as board director of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and Eduardo Ramor Jr. as assistant secretary at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Meanwhile, Police Senior Supt. Jerry Camannong Linsagan was promoted to chief superintendent. /atm
