MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.

While the weather disturbance is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), its trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Central and Eastern Visayas, Caraga region, Northern Mindanao and Davao Region, weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said.

The LPA was last spotted 1,295 kilometers east of Davao City and is not likely to intensify into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.
