Palace justifies veto of PCA bill: It’s corruption-prone

Malacañang defended President Rodrigo Duterte’s move to veto the bill strengthening the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), as signing it would only make the PCA more vulnerable to corruption.
The Palace hoped that lawmakers would craft a better law to ensure the equitable distribution of the coco levy funds.
Last week, the President vetoed Senate Bill No. 1976 and House Bill No. 8522 that sought to strengthen the PCA. —Julie M. Aurelio
