LRT-1 commuter arrested over bomb joke

A commuter in line for security inspection in a Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) station was arrested over a bomb joke, police said on Tuesday.
Akbar Ismael was apprehended at the entrance of Gil Puyat station after claiming that the person in front of him has a bomb concealed inside his bag.
The two persons were brought to a nearby police community precinct even after no explosive was found in their possession.
Ismael is facing charges for violating Presidential Decree 1727 which prohibits ill-considered pranks, including bomb jokes. NEIL JAYSON N. SERVALLOS
