A new internet service provider (ISP) informed its subscribers on Tuesday that it was experiencing “connectivity” problems in some of its service areas but assured them that its technical team was conducting repairs.

In a statement posted on its social media platforms, Converge ICT Solutions said while connection was restored at about 2 a.m., “connectivity issues affecting subscribers” were detected hours later.

“Our technical team is currently conducting fiber [optic] blowing for permanent resolution,” said the telecommunications company, which businessman Dennis Uy owns.

“We received an update from our concerned group: Restoration still ongoing.”

According to website Outage Report, Metro Manila was widely affected by the outage, with Quezon City generating 125 reports to the site over the past 24 hours. General Trias in Cavite had 109 reports, and Tarlac City had 104 reports.

Carmona in Laguna, San Juan City, Angeles City in Pampanga, Makati City, Manila, Pasig, and Mandaluyong City also appeared on the “Reports by City” list.

A map showed that the outage reached as far as Baguio City and Pangasinan.

In addition, Outage Report showed that the Philippines reported 1,259 Internet outages to the website over the past 24 hours. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
