Baldo indicted over Batocabe murder

Daraga, Albay Mayor Carlwyn Baldo and several others have been charged over the killing of Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe last year.
Acting Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon confirmed yesterday that the Albay Prosecutor’s Office has issued a resolution finding probable cause to indict Baldo with two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder.
Also charged with Batocabe were Christopher Naval, Emmanuel Roselle, Jaywin Babor, Henry Tyson, and Rolando Arimado. Charged as accomplice was Danilo Luella.
Batocabe was a member of the House Committees on Dangerous Drugs, Health, Energy, Tourism, and Good Government.
He filed his Certificate of Candidacy for mayor in his hometown of Daraga for this year’s elections.
Batocabe and his security escort, SPO1 Orlando Diaz, had just attended a gift-giving event for senior seniors in Barangay Burgos in Daraga when they were killed. (Jeffrey Damicog)
