Laro’t Saya sa Parke (LSP), a park-based program of the Philippine Sports Commission, resumed in Tagum City and Davao City last weekend,

With at least 500 expected attendees weekly from all ages and different walks of life, the LSP is truly a grassroots sports program that touches the masses.

Apart from zumba, also on tap are arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, football, frisbee, futsal, gymnastics, karatedo, yennis, muay thai, sepak takraw, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.

Early this April, the LSP was re-launched in Visayas in the cities of San Carlos, Dumaguete and Sipalay simultaneous with its reactivation in Quezon City, San Juan and Luneta.

An initiative under the Sports for All program of PSC, the Laro’t Saya sa Parke also known as Play and Learn Sports for free targets the Filipino family that visits the park every weekend.

“It is actually overwhelming to see the excited faces of families that really look forward to weekends for this activity” said Ms. Alona Quintos in a phone interview with the PSC Hour radio show.

It is set to be re-launched in Oroqueta City, Misamis Occidental in the first weekend of May.
