Tesla’s recent job fair in China is just a reflection of how popular and successful Tesla is worldwide, and how much it is helping both the U.S. and Chinese economies as hiring continues to soar. With booming business, Tesla is on yet another hiring spree.

On September 28, 2019, Tesla held a job fair in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai Pudong Human Resource Center. It seems clear, especially with the latest news about base Model 3 imports ending, that we can see those Made in China Model 3s begin their production before the end of October.

Matching up with that timeline, according to the video below posted to YouTube by 乌瓦, Chinese Model 3 production will start on October 14th.

The Nikkei Asian Review reported that technicians, software engineers, and marketing professionals were needed for the Shanghai Gigafactory. They actually started hiring through their official WeChat account on September 1st, seemingly assembling a factory firmware team to develop programmable hardware that controls the production line.

This video was shot from a rice field in Lingang, and 乌瓦 points out in the video description that around the same time that the rice will be harvested (October), Tesla will begin production of the Model 3. He also call the Shanghai factory, the Tesla Shanghai Super Factory harvest, because after 8 months of construction, the factory was completed with “Shanghai Speed.”

Job seekers on alert. 1st round of hiring factory firmware engineers/technicians at #GF3 is underway. The establishment of factory firmware team is to deploy, integrate and assess smart hardware & programmable logic controllers for S3XY. 4 job info, contact joingiga@Tesla.com pic.twitter.com/gOMAh5rJHB

Another note from across the world is that China is also on board with the end-of-the-quarter push. Volunteers took to Weibo to share how they were helping out. This shows just how excited Chinese citizens are, whether they are simply Tesla supporters or owners, about Tesla, the first American company coming to China and opening its own factory there — a factory that is completely owned by Tesla.

China is completely behind Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory — the government wants to see Tesla succeed. Why? Because China sees Tesla’s success as its own success. China will help reduce air pollution levels as more and more consumers choose electric vehicles over gas ones. Also, Tesla’s hiring in China will help Chinese citizens and the Chinese economy as well as the environment.

China isn’t the only place Tesla’s hiring has soared. Here in the US, Tesla’s hiring has also grown this year — up 33% since June of 2019. Many services centers, including the one in New Orleans, have just opened their doors, and this shows that worldwide Tesla is leading and on an expansion path that helps both the Chinese and US economies.

In Louisiana, many Tesla owners have been monitoring the Tchoupitoulas location, and yesterday, two people told me that the service center was open for business — something that many Louisiana residents have been hoping for.

As a global leader of several cleantech industries, Americans should celebrate Tesla. It has achieved something during a trade war between the US and China that many companies haven’t even considered possible. Its mission, vision, and innovation continue to put it at the head of markets and in the driver’s seat on some of the most important issues of our time.
