The Tesla Model 3 won the IIHS’s TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, which means that the car achieved the top score in all 8 test categories. You cannot get a better score. While this is a tremendous achievement, it’s also not surprising. The Model 3 already achieved the best safety score ever from the NHTSA, and we know that it is the safety leader due to abundant crumple zones, market-leading active safety features, extremely strong doors and a similarly strong roof, a low center of gravity that keeps the car stable, and tremendous traction control

New Tesla Model 3 Aero Wheel From Fast Wheels — Wicked!

Way back in 2016 when I camped outside the Montreal Tesla store for two nights to reserve my Tesla Model 3 Performance, I can’t say I had wheels on my mind. There were many other things — excitement wondering what the car would actually look like, the experience of meeting so many amazing people from the Tesla community, staving off frostbite … but in that exact moment, any impact about what this car would have on my work was pretty far down the list

Until a couple weeks ago, my knowledge of the famous Nürburgring race track in Germany was basically limited to the strange Ring Racer roller coaster that was built in 2009 to be the fastest in the world, but ended up only operating four days in 2013 after they blew more than 12.3 million euros making it

The plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) share was 2.6% in the month, with BEVs alone hitting 1.6%. That kept the 2019 plug-in share at 2.6% (1.7% BEV)

Aside from the usual swarm of Tesla stories that catch readers’ attention more than anything else, hot topics this past week on CleanTechnica were the semi-arrival of the Volkswagen ID.3 and how it competes against other electric hatchbacks, the Honda E, and enormous sea level rise. (One of these is not like the other.)

Seemingly, one of the most controversial things about Tesla cars is its Autopilot feature, a driver-assist feature that helps drivers navigate and pilot their vehicle. Oddly, while news of exciting Autopilot features comes out regularly, general information about exactly what Autopilot is, what the options are, and what it can and cannot do seem to be few and far between

Tesla Model 3 & Model Y Are Legitimately Disruptive — What Should Automakers Do?

Credit to Author: Zachary Shahan| Date: Sun, 15 Sep 2019 06:15:55 +0000

The world is changing. It always is, but the change is particularly dramatic right now in certain technology sectors. To a normal person’s eyes, changes in the auto industry may seem only incremental. Cars are getting a bit more “connected,” more people are using 21st century taxis from Uber and Lyft (please don’t call this ridesharing), and some people are driving electric cars. But we ain’t seen nothing yet

In a video uploaded by Gustavo Testa, a Tesla Model 3’s Automatic Emergency Braking appears to save the butt, and perhaps life, of a cyclist. Right at 8 seconds into the short clip, the cyclist swerves left, then seems to realize there’s a car behind him and immediately swerves right
