When you buy a new car, your new car, you want it to stay in a perfect, kind-of-new way for as long as possible. At the beginning, you wipe each little mark off, get rid of every little spec as soon as you see it, vacuum every piece of sand (as if it was even possible living in Florida and going to the beach here…). But, let’s be honest, sharing this new car with two little kids is not easy at all. The car is not a museum where you are not allowed to touch anything, right? And those kids are not museum visitors.

However, there are some things that can help you keep your car clean, like getting floor mats. We recently received Tesla Model 3 Floor Mats / Interior Liners from Tesmanian to review. The liners are made of the BPA-fee & nontoxic thermoplastic elastomer compound TPE. They are odorless, unlike most other rubber mats available on the market.

There are 2 front liners & 1 rear liner in the package. The mats fit perfectly, both in the front and back seating areas. This is a perfect solution to protect your car floors from stains, spills, dirt, and sand. They are easier to keep clean than the ones that are originally included in the car interior. It’s easy to put them in and take them out for cleaning purposes. They can be easily vacuumed, wiped off, shaken off, or sprayed if needed. A nice thing for the driver, too, is they are not slippery. You don’t have to be worried or get annoyed at your heel slipping while on the electricity or brake pedal (the small percentage of the time you’re using them instead of Autopilot).

We also got all 3 Tesmanian trunk liners: Tesla Model 3 Rear Trunk Mat Cargo Liner, Tesla Model 3 Rear Trunk Well Storage Mat Cargo Liner, and Tesla Model 3 Front Trunk Mat Frunk Cargo Liner. These mats are really well designed to maximize protection of your rear trunk and frunk. The material is very strong and durable looking. And, again, the liners fit perfectly and are sturdy on all sides, providing great coverage to your original carpet interior.

My only recommendation for future improvement would be to create a kind of opening/access to the hidden lower part of the trunk, without having to lift the whole mat up to reach it. I love having the hidden trunk, which is great for transporting groceries, gallons of water, or other stuff, and it is now less accessible for quick storage and access. That said, you can lift up the upper mat to access the hidden lower trunk compartment without taking the whole large cover out — it’s just not as easy as it was. In particular, it is not that easy to put bulky items in on your own while you have to hold up the mat to reach the lower trunk. My husband has less trouble with it. Overall, though, we certainly prefer having the mats/liners to protect the original material and it also makes cleaning out the sand and dirt much easier.

Something else very important to buyers is the packaging. Each item is securely packed. The mats arrived unbent and undamaged. There was no need to let the mats flatten before putting them into the car. We were able to put them in the car right after opening the boxes and they adjusted perfectly to the floors. (Although, we read the instructions after the fact and saw that we skipped a couple of steps for forming them for a perfect fit. Perhaps they would have fit even better if we had followed the instructions, but having no complaints and with them seeming to fit perfectly for us, it appears that “going by the books” is not critical — at least, not in all cases.)

Overall, I think Tesmanian created a high-quality product with great, environmentally friendly materials and a perfect fit for a reasonable price. (Well, free was the perfect price for us, but the list price looks reasonable as well — the product seems worth the cost.) Probably the nicest thing about the mats for our life is that they are really easy to clean and always look like new afterward.
