Kiwanis International PH marks 105th anniversary with wreath laying ceremony at Rizal Park

MORE than 250 Kiwanians from all around the country gathered at Rizal Park for the annual wreath laying ceremony to mark the 105th anniversary celebration of Kiwanis International which was attended also by the past governors.

Lead by Governor Raymund Gerard Arcinas Yap and Lieutenant Governor Glenda Hufano of Philippine Luzon District with the help of TAG Media Group with Lieutenant Governor Elect Grace Bondad Nicolas who serves also as the emcee at the event, the Philippine Marines started the event with their rendition of Philippine National Anthem, Pilipinas Kong Mahal song and the ceremonial march.

New in the event is the releasing of three white doves which according to Lieutenant Governor Glenda Hufano symbolizes unity, peace and camaraderie among the Kiwanis members to push more also the advocacy for the children in need. The “Objects of Kiwanis” which listed the mandates and objectives of the organization was read by Kiwanis Makati President Engineer Perry Camba while the Kiwanis hymn was under President Ezelle Gascon of Manila Bay and President Maria Normie Rivera of Kiwanis Pasay.

Kiwanis International was established in 1915 at Detroit, Michigan. Kiwanis International is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated to improving the lives of children one community at a time. Today, it has more than 600,000 members from K-Kids to Key Club to Kiwanis and many ages in between in more than 80 countries.
