If you are a newcomer or new immigrant you’re probably starting to learn about Canada’s famous celebrities. Did you know that pop star Justin Bieber and rapper Drake are Canadian?

Over the years, Canada has produced some standout stars who have come to collectively represent the country. Entertainment site Ontario Casinos has put together a list of famous celebrities by analyzing each star’s social media following, Google search volume and TikTok views, as well as reader reactions to online articles about the celebs.

Any guesses as to who featured in this list of Canadian celebrities when it comes to global popularity?

Ontario-born pop superstar Justin Bieber tops the list of Canadian celebrities when it comes to popularity. In addition to his huge social media following and millions of Google searches each month, an impressive 69% of online articles written about him are met with love from readers, with just 1% receiving angry reactions.

Drake comes in second place, with readers reacting positively to half (50%) of all articles written about him and only 3% reacting negatively. He also has a very large social media following, and receives just under 3 million Google searches per month.

The Weeknd (born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye in Toronto, Ontario) comes in third!

Justin Bieber tops the list again for Google searches, with a huge 5 million people searching his name each month followed by Celine Dion in second place with just under 4.1 million Google searches per month, and The Weeknd in third with 3.4 million searches.

Other celebrities who made the list are Celine Dion, Rachel McAdams, Shawn Mendes, Ryan Gosling. Avril Lavigne, Shania Twain and Taylor Russell.
