Anne Curtis responds to ‘retokada’ comment: ‘My daughter and I are both beautiful’

Kapamilya actress and host Anne Curtis responded to a claim by a netizen about going under the knife. On her X (formerly Twitter) account, the celebrity mom asserted that she isn’t “retokada” and even gave the netizen a virtual hug despite the negative comment made about her and her daughter, Dahlia. 

“Retokada yarn? Exhibit A – anak,” the netizen said. 

In the netizen’s post, he shared a screenshot of Anne who graced a red carpet event. The netizen made several other comments under the Kapamilya actress’a post about how she looked in that event to which she responded with grace.

“Can proudly say I’m not retokada at all and for me, for me lang naman, my daughter and I are both beautiful,” Anne fired back.

While she is known to not answer rude comments directed towards her, the It’s Showtime host took the time to draft a response to the netizen. 

“I usually don’t give people like you the time of the day but wala lang. I don’t know who hurt you or why you’re so angry with me but nonetheless sending you some kindness maybe you some in your life. Big virtual hug 🤗 I mean that, sincerely,” she said.

Fans of the Kapamilya star called out the netizen and also applauded Anne for being so graceful with the response despite the negative comment made towards her and her daughter. 

“The gall to accuse THE Anne Curtis?!!I’m part of the generation who grew up with her. Saw her from the start.. and dear, she’s been a Dyosa ever since,” a fan wrote.

“Na para bang di normal ang lines sa mukha. Nasanay kasi kayo sa TikTok filter. Ganda kaya ni Anne,” another fan added.

“Wala ako usually pakialam sa mga ganito pero, pati ba naman bata idadamay? Ako ang sobrang nainis para kay Anne. @annecurtissmith hug? Hindi nya deserve! You’re too kind,” a fan expressed. 

While Anne doesn’t always respond to negative comments thrown at her on social media, she previously expressed how she always takes accountability for the mistakes she has made.

“I honestly think that’s why I’ve lasted this long in the industry. 28 years!!!  🫣 I’ve never had a squeaky clean image. I’ve had my fair share of mistakes. Owned up to them publicly and learned from them. Stayed true to my core. Thanks for standing by me everyone,” she previously expressed.
