Francisco, Abdilla ousted from Asian Games beach volleyball contest

The Alas Pilipinas duo of Lerry Francisco and Ran Abdilla was eliminated by Oman’s Mazin Al-Hashimi and Hood Al Jalaboubi from the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, Thursday at the Hekinan Ryokuchi Beach Court.

Despite putting up a gallant stand, they absorbed a 21-14, 28-26 loss at the hands of the Oman side, concluding their run in Pool A with no wins.

They also took a loss against Qatar’s Cherif Samba and Ahmed Janko, 21-7, 21-10. 

Meanwhile, Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons will return to the sands on Friday after a triumphant Asiad debut four days ago.

They routed Bangladesh’s Most Sabina Khatun and Mst Lucky Khatun, 21-6, 21-6, just this Sunday.
