Find Your Signature Scent at the Newest Fragrance Hub in North: The Fragrant Fox
Whether you’re a devoted collector or a casual wearer, the desire to find a signature scent is ineluctable. We are naturally drawn toward fragrances that leave a lasting impression. Scents that evoke vivid memories, turn heads, and ultimately become our personal calling card. Fortunately, we discovered an exciting new olfactory destination up North. A fragrance boutique beyond a retail space; it’s an immersive hub designed for experiential discovery, connecting with fellow fragheads, and pinpointing your trademark aroma. Step inside Quezon City’s newest perfume playground: The Fragrant Fox.
With over 150 brands, ranging from local labels to renowned international niche houses, including rare ones, the Fragrant Fox positions itself as the first perfume lounge in the Philippines where you can buy, sell old bottles, trade, and consign perfumes all in one place.
Behind this brilliant idea are the young Gen-Z founders: Lyle Chavez, Dandelo Gepilano, Jefferson Li, Jan Kyle Zulueta, Julia Espera, Ched Espera, John Vergara, and O’neal Tan. Before it became known as a premium perfume lounge, the idea began with friendship and a love of fragrance. Lyle Chavez, one of the founders of The Fragrant Fox, explained how their regular sniff sessions shifted from a routine obligation into a quiet indulgence: “We were all part of the same fragrance community, and we used to have these little ‘sniff sessions’ at each other’s homes, restaurants, and even hotels. We’d bring our collections, let each other smell different perfumes, talk about brands, and share what we liked or didn’t like. Eventually, those simple meet-ups became something we really looked forward to.”
“The name actually came from our own experiences as fragheads,” Lyle shared.
Intimidation and feeling a little unwelcome remain a quiet hurdle for shoppers who simply want a firsthand glimpse of a fragrance they’ve been dreaming about. “We’ve heard stories and experienced it ourselves where people feel a little unwelcome when shopping for perfume. Sometimes you’re just browsing or trying to figure out what you like, and you can feel like you’re being rushed or even shooed away because you’re not buying anything yet.” Thus, deriving its name from “Fox,” an elegant, clever, and a little mysterious, yet alternatively (sometimes) treated like a pest and shooed away. “We thought that was actually a pretty good representation of what we wanted to change for people starting out their fragrance journey or collectors themselves,” Lyle purported.
Find niche fragrances and hard-to-find bottles here.“We want The Fragrant Fox to be a place where you can take your time. Whether you’re completely new to perfume or you’ve been collecting for years, you can come in, smell as much as you want, ask questions, and explore without feeling like someone is waiting for you to buy.” – Lyle Chavez, co-founder of The Fragrant FoxFurthermore, the surge of counterfeit perfumes sold online remains uncontrollable. Housing them in a physical store where shoppers can see and test them offers true peace of mind. “Another reason we wanted a physical store was because of the issue of fake fragrances online.” Thus, leading the owners to build their lounge in an accessible district, “when you buy from someone online, and something goes wrong after you’ve already transferred your money, sometimes you don’t even know where to find the seller anymore,” Lyle added.
Beyond scents and bottles, The Fragrant Fox also has its in-house cafe “Veloura Chocolate,” where you can grab a coffee while browsing through their perfume shelves. They offer a wide selection of heartwarming drinks such as ube latte topped with asin tibuok, or if you want a healthier option, grab their authentic matcha with ingredients directly sourced from Japan, and for a kick of sweetness, try their best-selling Dubai Chewy Chocolate.
Sip on coffee or matcha latte while browsing their fragrance selection.“We’ve also done a perfume-making workshop with [Filipino fragrance brands] Tadhana and collaborated with Tito Calvin of The Manila Penography, so we’re always trying to find ways to bring different communities together,” offering visitors an even more exhilarating experience.
Whenever we set our sights on a fragrance, our expectations are anchored by standard mall prices. The real goal, of course, is securing a lower price without falling prey to counterfeit sellers. The Fragrant Fox has us covered. With prices ranging from roughly Php 5,000 to over Php 25,000 and above, all offered at below-retail prices, securing your signature scent becomes feasible. “Whether you’re buying your first niche fragrance, looking for a new everyday scent, or already collecting, there are different price points to explore,” Lyle highlighted.
Enjoy a smaller bottle if you can’t commit to a full one.The Fragrant Fox also offers partials. If a scent suddenly captures your heart and you don’t want to commit to a full bottle, a portion lets you enjoy it while still assessing whether it suits you best.
The Fragrant Fox serves more than a typical retail transaction; it’s an intentional space where experience and discovery take center stage. Designed for the joy of exploring fragrances, the zero-pressure-to-buy and inviting environment makes it a store you want to return to.
