Alas Men finish at 13th place in Asian Games as Kyrgyzstan forfeits classification match

Alas Pilipinas Men will finish in 13th place at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 after Kyrgyzstan forfeited the 13th-place match, as announced by the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games Organising Committee (AINAGOC) on Friday night.

Per the AINAGOC, Kyrgyzstan notified the Technical Delegate that the team will “not participate,” declaring the match forfeit, with the official result recorded as 3-0 (25-0, 25-0, 25-0) in favor of the Philippines.

This marks back-to-back victories for the Bryan Bagunas-captained squad, after winning against Uzbekistan on Friday, 25-19, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17.

It was also the end of their Asiad campaign, where Bagunas revealed the lack of financial support for the team on its buildup to the continental showpiece.
