Teresita Solis, alias “Tessie” or “Buchay,” at their home on Hardin Street in Barangay Lamot 2, Calauan, Laguna.
“Nakapag-establish na sila ng negosyo doon kasi nga 17 years na [silang] nagtago, akala nila hindi na sila masundan then nakakuha tayo ng impormasyon, at base doon sa mga informant natin na andoon nga [sila] sa Calauan,” said Col. Vicente Cabatingan, chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of the Calabarzon PNP.
The couple was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court of the 4th Judicial Region, Branch 23 in Trece Martires City for murder. The court recommended no bail.
Police alleged that the Solis couple hired a gunman to kill the businesswoman on June 14, 2009, after she demanded payment for money they had borrowed from her.
“Sa halip na bayaran nila ‘yung kanilang utang ay pina-trabaho itong negosyante na itong babae at kanilang ipinapatay,” Brig. Gen Dominic Baccay, regional director of the Calabarzon PNP, said.
“Kaya itong mag-asawa ay nakasuhan ng murder, at itong mag-asawa simula noon ay nagtago kung saan-saan,” he added.
The couple is now detained at the Magallanes Custodial Facility in Cavite.
