MANILA — Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda has denied rumors that he is quitting his post.

“I remain focused on carrying out my responsibilities and ensuring the continuity of the department’s work,” he said in a statement.

“In particular, as the Philippines hosts ASEAN this year, it is important that DICT continues to effectively fulfill its role in advancing our regional engagements on technology and innovation, including the ASEAN AI MSME event this week,” he noted.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro also said she has no information on Aguda’s supposed resignation.

“Wala[ng] ganun impormasyon dahil kakausap pa lang natin kay Sec. Aguda, nagbigay siya ng larawan kay [PCO] Sec. Dave Gomez na patuloy ang trabaho niya as secretary ng DICT,” she told reporters in Singapore. —With reports from Harlene Delgado, ABS-CBN News
