Who and what makes them kilig? “Sparks Camp 4” campers disclose their ultimate celebrity crushes, love language preferences

After weeks of waiting, the 10 campers of “Sparks Camp” Season 4 are finally complete!

In Episode 2, the first eight campers were introduced—Tommy Alejandrino, Ian Lubrica, EJ Magistrado, Jury Fajardo, Taku Morita, Beej Mordeno, Michael Padiernos, and Joaquin Espiritu—and got to know each other better, especially during their acquaintance party. By the end of the episode, just as they were about to play their second game, Mother Sparker Mela Habijan introduced the latest addition to their lineup: Howie Johnnson.

Things heated up in Episode 3 as the campers competed in the “Balsa Kasama Kita,” a fun challenge inspired by the children’s game “The Boat is Sinking.” EJ and Beej earned the prize of going on a lambingan beach date with each other since they were the last two players left in the game. Later in the episode, Mother Sparker and the campers welcomed the final addition to their batch—Gio Lopez—through a cheeky “T.O.P.” (tanong o patikim) moment with him facilitated by Mela.

As we look forward to getting to know all 10 campers better in the succeeding episodes and seeing who among them might develop “sparks” with one another, “Sparks Camp” director Theodore Boborol gives avid fans of the well-loved queer dating reality show a delightful treat!

In the latest vlog uploaded on his YouTube channel, Direk Ted quizzes the campers one-by-one about their ultimate celebrity crushes and the love languages they prefer to receive.

The first camper he catches is EJ, who reveals that his number one celebrity crush is Jacob Elordi because he admires the actor’s sense of style. Beej, meanwhile, names Alex Diaz, citing his height and strong appeal. It’s also BGYO Gelo Rivera’s tallness and rizz that make Jury Fajardo adore the “The Chambermaid’s Daughter” leading man, along with his impressive dancing skills and kindness.

As someone who loves music and singing, as well as Broadway musicals, Howie has developed a huge admiration for “The Greatest Showman” lead star Hugh Jackman, whom he appreciates not only for his acting but also for his singing. Besides, Howie is also a self-confessed fan of “X-Men,” one of the popular franchises starring the Hollywood actor.

Joaquin, meanwhile, seems to have a soft spot for American singer-songwriter Conan Gray, whose combination of softness and ruggedness he finds attractive. Gio’s kilig, on the other hand, is truly evident as he talks about and gives a special shoutout to his ultimate crush, “Miss Behave” actor Reiven Rigor, whom he describes as handsome and cute.

Ian also can’t contain their kilig as they reminisce about their first-ever personal encounter with their ultimate celebrity crush, Darren Espanto, during the campers’ guesting on “It’s Showtime” for the “Sparks Camp 4” promo. Michael, meanwhile, may not elaborate on why he likes Emilio Daez, but the way he shyly says the actor’s name on camera definitely says a lot.

Tommy, on the other hand, shares that he doesn’t have a celebrity crush at the moment. However, he reveals that Dennis Trillo was his first-ever celebrity crush after seeing him in the 2005 TV adaptation of the legendary Pinoy comics series “Darna.”

When it comes to the love languages they prefer to receive, most of the campers mention physical touch and quality time.

EJ discloses that it’s physical touch for him, while Jury chooses quality time, which he considers a good way of getting to know his partner deeper. Beej, Howie, and Ian, meanwhile, all say they want both physical touch and quality time.

The “Fil-Amazing Wonderboy” shared that he’s not afraid to do public displays of affection and actually appreciates it when someone doesn’t make him feel like an option, as well as really makes time for him despite their busy schedules. Ian, on the other hand, explained that as a drag artist who often works at night, they want the time they spend with their partner to be exclusively about the two of them.

Gio can’t help but get emotional as he mentions “words of affirmation” as the love language he prefers to receive, as it seems to be something he has been yearning for. He wants a partner who makes him feel that he will never be alone and that they will always be there for him no matter what.

For Joaquin, meanwhile, both “words of affirmation” and “acts of service” are highly important.

Tommy and Michael, on the other hand, both mention preferences that are not part of the five basic love languages we’re familiar with. For the “High Street” actor, he values having a partner who is transparent and honest and doesn’t play games. The charming nursing student, meanwhile, reveals that the way to his heart is through food—including his favorites such as ramen, carbonara, and palabok from a popular Pinoy fast-food chain.
