Live-action Lego musical to premiere online this October

The Lego Group is set to release its first live-action musical special this October.

“Lego Friends: Heartlake The Musical” is produced by Kenny Ortega (“High School Musical,” “The Cheetah Girls”), Jill Wilfert of Lego Entertainment, and Michael McKenna and Hanah Draper of Final Pixel.

The 50-minute show features four original songs, with direction and choreography by Paul Becker (“The Last of Us,” Descendants”).

It follows Daisy, who turns to the plastic blocks to escape loneliness after moving to a new town. She then gets whisked into the world she built, embarking on a music-filled journey with new friends.

“Heartlake” will be streamed on Lego’s YouTube channel starting on Friday, October 16.

To mark the global premiere, the Lego Group is offering discounts on select sets on Lego Friends, one of its most popular franchises.
