EXCLUSIVE: XONARA on always wanting to staying humble: ‘We always do our best to ground each other’

After finally making their debut as girl group five months ago, XONARA’s career continues to rise as they steadily make a name for themselves in the P-pop world. Composed of members Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei, and Namie, the girls admit that staying grounded and grateful are what they consider as the keys to their continued rise as artists.

“As much as we can, talagang tina-try namin to take things one step at a time. Being relatively new to the industry, we still find the amount of recognition we’ve received hard to believe. It can definitely get overwhelming, but it’s something na sobrang grateful kami na meron po kami. We see it as a blessing. Whenever things get too much, we always do our best to ground each other and be there for each other. For our music career this year, nag-lu-look forward po kami to growing more as artists. As young artists, we have so much more to learn, explore, and discover about ourselves kaya we’re really excited to see where our journey takes us,” said XONARA member Megumi.

The rising girl group also consider it another unexpected blessing to be chosen as the newest ambassadors of the latest EAT 7 campaign of a popular South Korean fried chicken fast food chain, following in the footsteps of the brand’s previous celebrity ambassadors like Heart Evangelista and Sandara Park.

“Honestly, everyone was really shocked and excited when we found out! Kasi this is actually something na we crave for a lot, especially after our trainings. So it feels extra extra special that we get to represent a brand that we genuinely love. Super grateful po talaga kami! What I love most about this endorsement is that it feels very natural. It’s not just something na we’re endorsing we’re actually fans of Bonchon, so being able to share something we already enjoy with our fans is really exciting for us. And of course for the new flavors, honestly, lahat po favorite namin! Ang daming pagpipilian, so kahit anong cravings mo, may something talaga for you. Depende talaga sa mood kung gusto mo ng spicy, sweet, or something in between, nandiyan lahat!” shares XONARA member Namie.

True to their nature of staying humble and staying close to their roots, XONARA also shared which teachers they had growing up made the biggest impact on them until now that they have joined the industry. XONARA member Lei admitted she can never forget her favorite senior high school teacher.

“We were really close, and he helped me in so many ways during an important time in my life. He was one of the people who believed in me and encouraged me to keep going, and I can honestly say that he is one of the reason why I’m here today. pursuing my dreams. One of my favorite memories with him is simply having conversations with him during break time.”

For XONARA member Ella, she will always cherish memories with one of her professorsin school as well as her coaches with her current management.

“I remember having a Botany professor, Sir Markee, who really stuck with me because he was so passionate about teaching his subject. Honestly, I wasn’t super interested in the anatomy of plants, but the way he explained things ignited a curiosity in me. Also, my coaches in 1Z have taught me so much. They always push, and continue to push, me to be better. They’ve been there since the start of my journey, and I couldn’t ask for better or more passionate mentors. I really look up to them, both as people and as professionals,” she shared.
