Tate McRae returns with new single ‘Housewife’, music video

Grammy-nominated pop star Tate McRae has released her new single, “Housewife,” along with a music video directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti.

Released through RCA Records, the song explores love, fame and independence through the story of a woman who resists being confined by expectations.

The music video was filmed in southern France and choreographed by Sergio Reis, whose credits include work with Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan and Charli XCX.

The video combines glamorous imagery with a more introspective look at the tension between personal freedom and romantic relationships, according to the release.

“Housewife” is McRae’s first new music release since her third album, “So Close to What,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

McRae is also scheduled to perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Earlier this year, she headlined sets at the Osheaga and Lollapalooza music festivals. She also launched her debut fragrance, TATE 01.

McRae has accumulated more than 29 billion career streams and earned two MTV Video Music Awards and three consecutive Artist of the Year honors at the Juno Awards.

Her hits include “you broke me first,” released in 2020, and “greedy,” from her 2023 album “Think Later.” Her 2025 album “So Close to What” featured the singles “Revolving Door” and “It’s OK I’m OK,” both of which topped Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart.
