In an interview, Mayor John Geesnell Yap said the city already provided cash assistance to the 34 families. He added that the city is working on a suitable site in the city to resettle them.
The fire victims are currently shelterÂing at the city evacuation center, informaÂtion from the City Media Bureau said.
There were reports in the local media that the victims could no longer return to the site where they used to have their homes, because the lot owner decided to re-purpose the area.
Several cause-oriented groups and private companies delivered relief goods to the fire victims. Gubernatorial candiÂdate and current House Deputy Speaker Arthur Yap also visited the fire victims and distributed relief goods.
According to City Fire Marshall Sr. Insp. Marlyn Macatangay the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
