Ogie wins over Pampanga crowd with “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” sing-along | ASAP XP

It’s not every day that we get to sing along with an OPM icon, so the live audiences present at the Lapid Arena for the “ASAP XP” in Pampanga make sure not to miss the rare opportunity to belt out the classic OPM love song “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” with none other than its singer-songwriter, Ogie Alcasid. 

He begins h is performance by showing off his comedic side, describing the song as the “number 2” karaoke favorite, with Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” taking the “number 1” spot. He then playfully asks the audience not to scream just yet because they do not know which song he is about to sing. Before launching into the song, he jokingly warns fathers in particular against asking anyone they meet the title and first line of the song, which is “Bakit ngayon ka lang?” 

The chief of OPM then descends from the stage to interact and sing along with the crowd, whose members eagerly seize the opportunity to meet him up close and sing a duet with him or even solo by grabbing the mic he has brought for them. Others, on the other hand, take the chance to hug him, express their love for him, and snap photos and videos with him, with Ogie happily accommodating as many fans as he can. 

By the end of the segment, the audience is apparently not the only one who appears to have enjoyed the experience, as Ogie himself seems to have had just as much fun.
