Kris Aquino hopes to be appointed to the Department of Health: ‘Alam nilang hindi ako magnanakaw’

The Philippines’ Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed that she hopes to be appointed under the Department of Health (DOH) in the future. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda on Fast Talk on October 28, the award-winning actress shared how her experience made her realize what could be done to improve the system set in place for the health sector.

In the same interview, Kris admitted as well that she is open to running for public service if only she is healthy and capable–– which she maintained she isn’t at the moment. The actress has been diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases for which she has been getting treatment for the past couple of years. 

“Yes, but I’m not healthy. My dad had always… parang yun ang akala nung dad ko para sa akin but we need a miracle. Hindi ibibigay ang lahat,” she admitted.

While she is unable to run for public office, Kris is hopeful that she can get appointed to the DOH and is open to any administration that may need her service. 

“But ako, if ever, sana ma appoint na kung sino man ang mahahalal na maging ano DOH [Appointee] kasi sa experience ko,” she expressed.

The Queen of All Media added that the public already knows that she won’t steal money from them and even cited some of the plans she wants to implement if given the chance to have the said position. 

“Alam nilang hindi ako magnanakaw and yung mapababa lang ang cost ng gamot, ang laking bagay na. Maybe by not taxing the importation of medicine so high, we can already make it so affordable,” she maintained. 

She then shared how honest public servants are needed now and maintained that she isn’t pertaining to anyone in particular. 

“Feel ko kasi talaga na dapat ang mga naappoint yung alam ng taong may natabing pera na. Wala po akong sinasabi at pinariringgan ngayon but I would think we deserve honest public servants,” she ended.
