Ramen Ron, The Matcha Tokyo launch limited-edition desserts

Ramen Ron and The Matcha Tokyo Philippines have teamed up for a limited-edition menu featuring three desserts and a drink made with matcha and hojicha, available starting Wednesday, October 28, to November 30.

The collection was developed by AF Hospitality pastry innovation chef Chico Orcine, with guidance from The Matcha Tokyo Philippines chef Sonny Mariano. It combines the Japanese tea brand’s signature matcha and hojicha with Ramen Ron’s desserts.

“We’ve always admired The Matcha Tokyo’s dedication to quality and its respect for Japanese tea culture. It’s something we share at Ramen Ron, where tradition and craftsmanship are at the heart of what we do,” said Amado Forés of AF Hospitality. “This collaboration is a fun opportunity to bring our strengths together and give our guests something new to enjoy.”

The lineup includes the Matcha Pudding (P305), which features Japanese pudding topped with matcha custard sauce, and the Hojicha Mochi (P195), made with soft mochi filled with mascarpone and hojicha cream.

The Matcha Chestnut Mont Blanc (P395) combines milk soft serve, meringue, salted crumble, matcha chocolate sauce and matcha chestnut cream. The Matcha Watermelon Shake (P295) rounds out the collection with a watermelon shake topped with matcha sweet cream.

For Orcine, the collaboration also marks a return to his culinary roots.

“This collaboration is especially meaningful to me because I started my culinary career with Tasteless Food Group. Now with AF Hospitality, it feels like a full-circle moment to bring both teams together,” he said. “These desserts reflect my growth as a chef and the creativity and craftsmanship I’ve learned from both teams.”

Charles Paw of Tasteless Food Group, which operates The Matcha Tokyo Philippines, said the partnership highlights the versatility of Japanese teas beyond traditional beverages.

“Matcha and hojicha have so much potential beyond the drinks people already love. Seeing how Chef Chico and the Ramen Ron team have incorporated our teas into their desserts has been an exciting experience,” Paw said.

The Matcha & Hojicha Series will be available exclusively at Ramen Ron branches in Bonifacio Global City and Rockwell in Makati.
