Ate Gay passes away

MANILA – Comedian Ate Gay has passed away, his family announced on Sunday.

Born Gil Aducal Morales, Ate Gay passed away “peacefully” on November 1, while surrounded by his family. 

He had announced his cancer battle in September 2025. Last October 30, Ate Gay suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with septic shock and acute respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia.

“During this difficult time, our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who extended their prayers, love, financial assistance, and unwavering support throughout his battle. Your kindness and generosity have meant so much to our family,” Ate Gay’s family said.

“We kindly ask for your continued prayers for his eternal repose and for strength and comfort for our grieving family.”

Details for Morales’ wake and funeral will be announced soon, the family also said.

In October, Ate Gay held a “living funeral” with family and friends paying tribute.
