‘Drag Race Philippines’ celebrates Filipino queens, honors OFW breadwinners

Behind every “padala” is someone who is concerned about the well-being of their loved ones back home.

This season, Sendwave brings the same spirit to the runway.

As season 4 of “Drag Race Philippines” returns, Sendwave joins the cultural phenomenon as official partner, celebrating Filipino creativity and individuality while shining a light on something millions of Filipino families deeply understand: showing up for someone, even if they’re miles apart.

Sendwave believes that it all begins with the sender.

“Drag Race Philippines” partners with Sendwave. Handout Filipinos living abroad work hard, budget carefully, save what they can, and make sure to send something home. Every padala, whether it helps with groceries, bills, tuition, transportation, or simply makes life easier, has a story to tell.

Every sender deserves to have someone in their corner as well.

“At Sendwave, we make it a point to stand up for our customers. That means not only showing up in places like ‘Drag Race Philippines,’ where we know our communities are watching, but also extending that support to the queens themselves, many of whom are breadwinners pursuing their own goals. We see the same drive in the millions of OFWs abroad who are pursuing dreams for their families. That connection is important to us, which is why we form partnerships like this,” said Leo Albea, Head of the Philippines Market at Sendwave.

On “Drag Race Philippines,” the brand isn’t just watching from the sidelines. It contributes to the achievement of success.

Sendwave honors Filipino dedication. Handout

As the show’s partner, the brand is featured as the official method used to send sponsored prize money to the queens, bringing a very Filipino idea to some of the season’s most important moments: “Kapag may panalo, may padala.”

The brand will be present throughout Season 4, with special integrations and Sendwave moments whenever queens complete challenges.

However, the brand’s relationship with the queens will extend far beyond the Werk Room.

All of this season’s queens have signed on as Sendwave ambassadors, paving the way for additional collaborations throughout the year, including stories that bring Filipino senders and their families’ experiences to a wider audience.

Because, while “Drag Race Philippines” honors queens who compete for a place in the spotlight, the brand also wants to honor everyday Filipinos whose hard work is often done away from the spotlight.

The nurse completes another exhausting shift abroad. The worker makes a budget that includes rent, savings, and what needs to be sent home. The parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, daughter, or son who, despite being thousands of kilometers away, finds a way to say, “Nandito ako. Hindi kita nakakalimutan.”

Sometimes the message arrives in the form of a phone call. Sometimes used as a balikbayan box. Sometimes it comes through a padala.

That is why the collaboration with “Drag Race Philippines” is ultimately more significant than the runway.

It is about being in someone’s corner, celebrating queens pursuing their dreams, and recognizing Filipino senders who continue to show up for those they care about.
