Geneva Cruz talks about undergoing breast implant removal: ‘I felt now was the right time!’

It’s been almost two and a half month since she decided to undergo explant surgery or the removal of breast implants, and Geneva Cruz is happier than ever going back to a more natural physique. In her social media post last November 6, the 50-year-old performer and Philippine Army reservist shared what her body went through in preparation for the procedure. Geneva shared a reel taken last September showing her looking thinner than ever.

She wrote, “The human body is truly amazing. We can shape, strengthen (or weaken), and transform it however and whenever we want. What we eat and how we move make a big difference, too. I was only 110 lbs in the video. At 5’6”, I looked really lean because, although I was constantly training, I wasn’t eating much.  Last June, two months before my explant surgery, I came to see Doc Yappy, and he told me I needed to gain at least 5 lbs. I ended up gaining 14 lbs between June and August! I thought Doc might need to harvest some fat from other areas and transfer it to my breasts after the implants were removed. Turns out, it wasn’t necessary. So those extra pounds found a happy home around my hips and thighs.”

Post-surgery, the former Smokey Mountain singer happily shared that her weight has now gone up again to a healthy number.  “I’m now back to 120 lbs after recently losing 4 lbs. That’s my sweet spot, but I’d love to maintain it with less fat and more muscle. Special thanks to @docyappy for doing such a wonderful job with my explant surgery. I’m so grateful for how everything turned out. My bewbs are smaller now, but perkier, lighter, and just right for me. And apparently, my attitude is perkier now, too! Haha! Yay, me! 😌”

She added: “My goal is simple: to optimize my biomechanics, grow stronger physically and mentally, and feel comfortable in my own skin. Now, it’s all about building more muscle, staying fit, and keeping those curves! Here’s to embracing this chapter with childlike wonder and confidence! ☺️”

In an earlier post last month, Geneva revealed why she finally decided to have her implants removed when she turned 50.

“Day 20 of my #ExplantJourney with a breast lift. Everything looks good, and I’m really happy with the result. Why do it now? I’ve always known I’d have them removed someday, and I felt now was the right time—para habang mas bata, I really don’t want to go under general anesthesia when I’m older than I am now. 🙂 I feel like I’m starting over again, feeling lighter, freer, and excited for what’s ahead.  I can’t wait to dance, lift weights, and run again,” she shared.

Living an active and workout-oriented lifestyle in the South along with her daughter London, Geneva also wrote about her thoughts on aging and why she would never let her age define or restrict her.

“I’m 50 and proud. I’m not trying to be young, but I do believe we should stop letting age dictate what we can or cannot do. Whether it’s lifting heavy weights, taking martial arts or dance lessons that challenge our minds and bodies, or wearing a swimsuit we feel beautiful in, we should all be free to enjoy the things that make us happy. I’ve never believed in letting age put me in a box. Life is about continuing to grow, explore, and discover what we’re capable of, no matter how many digits are on our birth certificate. I will always be a student of life 🤓, and I intend to live that way. I want to keep learning, moving, challenging myself, and discovering new things about who I am and what I can do. Age is a number, not a limitation. I’m 50, I’m proud of it, and I’m nowhere near done growing”
