From “Pusong Ligaw” to “Paniwalaan Mo”: Jericho and Janine turn word prompts into kilig-filled duets

The season finale of “Everybody, Sing!” ended on a high note as the Songbayanang Baseco Compound Residents sang their hearts out for a chance to take home the grand prize. Joining them in their bid for the jackpot were “The Loyalty Game: Level Up” lead stars Janine Gutierrez and Jericho Rosales, who first delighted the crowd with a heartfelt duet of Sugarfree’s “Makita Kang Muli.”

Keeping the energy alive, Janine and Jericho handpicked four “repre-sing-tatives” to join them in the “Singko Blanko” round, where they had to fill in the missing lyrics to Eraserheads’ “Ang Huling El Bimbo.”

The fun didn’t stop there, as Jericho and Janine put their musical knowledge to the test in ABS-CBN Studios’ exclusive “Song Association” challenge. The two effortlessly matched the given words with OPM and Western hits.

For the first prompt, “everybody,” Jericho belted out the chorus of the Backstreet Boys’ dance hit “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” Janine quickly followed with Tears for Fears’ 1985 classic “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” a choice that Jericho readily agreed with.

For the next word, “good,” Janine turned to Bakar’s single “Good News,” singing the line “This feels like good news, just to be with you” alongside Jericho. Meanwhile, Jericho brought the funk with James Brown’s “I Feel Good.”

The challenge then shifted to OPM favorites. For the word “araw,” Janine quickly named Regine Velasquez’s “Araw Gabi,” while Jericho chose Rivermaya’s “Umaaraw Umuulan,” bringing a different flavor to the round.

The OPM streak continued with the word “ikaw,” prompting EchoNine to break into a duet of Jericho’s classic hit “Pusong Ligaw.” The pair crooned the line, “Ikaw pa rin ang hanap ng pusong ligaw,” adding a nostalgic touch to the challenge.

Saving the sweetest moment for last, the final word, “pag-ibig,” brought even more kilig to the segment as the real-life couple shared another musical moment. Jericho chose Blue Jeans’ 1977 hit “Paniwalaan Mo,” serenading Janine with the lyrics, “Pag-ibig ko sa’yo’y totoo, ni walang halong biro.”
