Laws, EOs helped Duterte score higher satisfaction rating — Andanar

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the signing of landmark measures into laws and other executive issuances helped President Duterte score a higher satisfaction rating in the latest survey of the Social Weather Station (SWS).
“Four percent ang kaniyang increase, kung iko-compare mo noong September, ang mga satisfied sa ating Presidente Duterte. Maraming rason kung bakit: mayroon pong labingtatlong mga Republic Act na pinirmahan si Presidente, mayroong walong EOs (Executive Orders) at tatlong AOs (Administrative Orders),” Andanar said in an in interview over DZBB on Saturday.
(There was a 4 percent increase in the number of people satisfied with President Duterte’s performance compared to results in September. There were many reasons for this. We have 13 Republic Acts that the President signed, 8 Executive Orders and 3 Administrative Orders.)
“Palagay ko it mirrors the sentiments of the population sa ating Pangulo dahil napakadami naman talagang mga landmarks na RA, EO, AO na pinirmahan si Presidente,” he added.
(I think it mirrors the sentiments of the people for our President because there are so many landmark RAs, EOs, AOs that the President signed.)
The SWS survey, conducted from Dec. 16-19, found that 74 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of Duterte.

Andanar cited the Free Irrigation Act, Ease of Doing Business Act, Philippine Identification System Act, and the Bangsamoro Organic Law as the landmark laws that Duterte signed.
He added that orders aimed at solving the insurgency and the return of the historic Balangiga Bells also helped Duterte’s satisfaction rating.
“Idagdag mo pa iyong Balangiga Bells lately at iyong ano rin, iyong naalis tayo doon sa listahan ng mga delikadong bansa para sa mga journo – ng Reporters Without Borders at ng Community to Protect Journalists,” the Palace official said.
